The Jackson Snow Squad was started by Vice Mayor Derek Dobies and City Councilman Andrew Frounfelker in response to the snow emergency created by the recent winter storm. The volunteer effort aims to help senior citizens, disabled persons, and those otherwise unable to shovel their sidewalks and driveways in the City of Jackson.

The City of Jackson is currently under a snow emergency and the city is asking residents to refrain from parking on the street to aid in the removal of snow until Wednesday, January 8th. The City of Jackson is temporarily SUSPENDING the 24-Hour rule until Friday, January 10th in order to allow more time for people to clear their sidewalks due to the extraordinary snow conditions.
